Tubac History on Thursday Afternoon

· October 26, 2023 at 3:30pm – this will be our second monthly Thursday afternoon history discussion

· At Tubac Historical Society’s “Casita,” 6 Burruel, Tubac

· Due to limited space in the casita for a small group like this, you will need to reserve a spot for this event ahead of time. Email Dan Judkins at djudkins1950@gmail.com to have your name placed on the list. Get your spot before they are gone. You do not have to be a THS member to attend, although we know that you will want to join THS if you are interested in local history.

· THS’s new Tubac History discussion group will be small, informal, and participatory. The group will gather for a relaxed time discussing a Tubac-relevant history topic. This will not be the usual “lecture,” but rather a series of questions on a specified topic, some mini “presentations” by several in the group, examination of documents and maps and relevant reference sources, and group discussion. You don’t have to prepare ahead of time, nor present anything – just relax and learn. Questions will be asked by everyone, and anyone with thoughts, ideas, or history tidbits will have time to share.

· Bring a small snack or hors d’ oeuvre to share, and something to drink for yourself.

· Oct. 26 topic: “Early Tubac – 1767-1776”

· The topic for October will be “The Pima Rebellion of 1751 and how it Relates to the Establishment of Tubac”

· Each month look for the date and information on the THS website regarding that month’s “Tubac History on Thursday Afternoon.”
