Among the many ways we support the community is by hosting Breakfasts with History. In this lecture series, knowledgeable speakers provide insight into the varied and interesting history of life in the Santa Cruz River Valley.
In the spring, the society celebrates with an Annual Picnic at a historic site. Also, periodically we sponsor field trips to archaeological and historical sites.

Tubac Historic on Thursday Afternoon, November 2023
November 30, 2023 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
FreeIn November, the “Tubac History on a Thursday Afternoon” discussion group will meet on November 30 at 3:30pm, the week after Thanksgiving. This one time only, instead of a sit-down discussion in the Casita, we will, instead, meet at the Casita to briefly review the details of the 1767 Urrutia map of Tubac, then go on a walking tour which will include some of the key places on the Urrutia map including the presidio soldiers’ houses and small plaza (which is inside the fenced Archaeological Conservancy area), a couple of parts of the old Spanish road, and the acequia — all shown on that map. In addition, we may stop at several of the places on the THS (self-guided) walking tour.
Since we will be out and about this one month only, we will skip having everyone bring drinks and snacks. Instead, bring good walking shoes, a bottle of water, and dress for the weather. Attendance will be limited, so pre-registration is required. Do that by emailing djudkins1950@gmail.com and sending your name(s), email address, and phone number.
Free. RSVP by emailing Dan Judkins.
