Among the many ways we support the community is by hosting Breakfasts with History. In this lecture series, knowledgeable speakers provide insight into the varied and interesting history of life in the Santa Cruz River Valley.
In the spring, the society celebrates with an Annual Picnic at a historic site. Also, periodically we sponsor field trips to archaeological and historical sites.

THS 2018 Annual Picnic – Sold Out

THS annual picnic will be held at the Rio Rico Golf Club, which is located on the historic Calabasas townsite, on Saturday, March 24 from 12 to 3. Historian Dwight Thibodeaux, Public Affairs Representative of the Rio Rico Historical Society, will be our guest speaker. Dwight will talk about the original Calabasas townsite, its connection to early ranching and railroading, the Calabasas Mission and the Santa Rita Hotel. Dwight will also lead a tour of the different sites on the property.
We hope you will join us to celebrate another great year at THS and as a “thank you” to all our members and volunteers. Remember, March 24, 12 to 3 for delicious food, good friends, and interesting history. Price for Members is $30. Price for non-members is $35 – This event is SOLD OUT.
