Among the many ways we support the community is by hosting Speaking of History. In this lecture series, knowledgeable speakers provide insight into the varied and interesting history of life in the Santa Cruz River Valley.
In the spring, the society celebrates with an Annual Picnic at a historic site. Also, periodically we sponsor field trips to archaeological and historical sites.

Sonoran Revolutionary “Female Militia” at the TCA

“Sonoran Revolutionary Female Militia”
Includes a 30-minute presentation by Phil Halpenny, followed by a showing of the famous 1959 movie La Cucaracha, starring the two doñas of 20th Century Mexican cinema, Delores del Rio and María Félix. The movie is about Valentina Ramírez Avitia.
Valentina Hot Sauce and chips will be served, and maybe some popcorn and drinks.
