Upon the urging of their friend William Morrow, Harwood and Sophie Steiger moved from Alamos, Mexico to Tubac in 1956 and opened a hand printed fabric factory in 1958. Sophie's niece, Wanda Halbwachs, came to Tubac to help with the business and continued to run the business after they passed on.
