Tubac Festival of the Arts : Six Decades of the Tubac Festival of the Arts
Decade Summary:
Tubac Festival of the Arts 2010 through 2019

By the second decade of the 21st century, it appeared that for the most part shop owners had become more accepting of the Festival. Some in fact welcomed the Festival and felt it was the "best week of the year" because it brought people to town who otherwise might not come. However, one shop owner still disagreed and felt it was too much competition and did not benefit local artists.

Touted as "Arizona's longest running art festival", the 51st annual event ran from February 10 - 14, 2010 and welcomed 175 vendors from across the country, 40 of whom were new artists.

In 2011, approximately 200 artists from across the US and Canada came. Local artists were again encouraged to submit designs for the commemorative poster and Roberta Rogers' watercolor was selected.

The 53rd annual Tubac Festival of the Arts was held in February with 175 booths plus food and entertainment and had an expected attendance of 60,000 visitors.

By 2020, the Tubac Festival of the Arts had been running strong for six full decades. Local Tubac shop owners were quoted in the papers as saying "the festival days are phenomenal for the shop" and "the festival is fantastic. We do great." A successful ending for this sixth decade!

Because the COVID pandemic ravaged the world in 2020, the 62nd annual Tubac Festival of the Arts scheduled for Spring 2021 was cancelled.
