DESCRIPTION:Gloria Fraser Giffords graduated from the University of Arizona with a BFA and MA in art history\, specializing in Spanish colonial art.  Her master’s thesis “Mexican Folk Retablos” was first published by the University of Arizona Press and later reissued by the University of New Mexico Press.\nThe fruit of more than 30 years of studying and photographing religious structures in Northern New Spain resulted in “Sanctuaries of Earth\, Stone and Light”\, published by the University of Arizona Press. Besides her interest in art and architecture in the area \, she is also an art conservator and Fellow with the American Institute for Conservation with principal interest in polychrome statuary and oil on canvas and metal surfaces.
